Hi, I'm Tanya!

Now I’m from the Islands where Halloween is not that much of a big deal, it’s not really part of our culture, so growing up I wasn’t exposed to it as much. The most I would do is watch Halloween movies on the Disney channel (I still do every year lol). If I’m honest, I’ve been living here in the US for 8 years and I’ve never taken the time out to fully understand the significance of Halloween. I do have an idea however, it seems like in this day and age Halloween is all about dressing up in costumes and of course slaying the different makeup looks. I’m all the way here for the fashion part of Halloween, could I dress up fancy like I’ve seen others? I’m sure I can but the way my patience is set up, Issa no! Hahahaha!

This post is going to be a short post, truth be told I just wanted to share my favorite Disney Channel Halloween movies as well as my favorite YouTubers who’ve been sharing their Halloween looks all month.

I don’t necessarily participate in Halloween but I did get some candy for the trick or treaters in my apartment complex (they better hope I don’t fall asleep before they come knocking).

Below are a list of my all time favorite Disney Channel Halloween movies and some of my favorite YouTubers Halloween makeup looks.

My all time favorite Disney Halloween Movies:

Twitches 1&2

Halloweentown 1,2,3 &4

Hocus Pocus

Don’t look under the bed

The Haunted mansion

Two of the YouTubers I watch consistently:

The first Halloween look that caught my attention this season is from Marie-Jean (Indigo child ) my fellow Island sister. I’ve seen all her videos and I know she has the talent to apply makeup and slay effortlessly (it’ll take me hours just to achieve a simple look lol). I do enjoy watching her makeup tutorials. I came across her first Halloween look when she uploaded a picture on Twitter. Being my dramatic self I had to close my Twitter app and reopened it just to make sure I was seeing the right thing lol. I absolutely had no idea she was THIS talented. She doesn’t do makeup professionally( I think she should) but her artistic ability is amazing, the creativity on both her looks is to be applauded. I first discovered Shantal (hairaconda) about 10 months ago, a friend of mine introduced me to get YouTube page and I’ve been a fan ever since. She’s also a fellow Islander hailing from the Island of Barbados. Her videos usually help me to achieve certain looks I may be going for depending on the event, but we all know I have no patience, so I just watch in hopes that I’ll become as good as her (in my mind I’m a pro lol). For the month of October, she did a challenge where she posted a video everyday of different Halloween looks. Below are a few of  the ones that really caught my attention.  You can check out her YouTube page here Watch “Hairaconda” on YouTube page here Hairaconda
