Hi, I'm Tanya!

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great holiday season. This was my first time having to work and not be able to spend time with my family cyah happen again lol (means: I have no intentions on doing this again). We are a few days away from a new year so thought I’d do a year in review post. In the first half of the year I had already deemed 2017 to be trash simply because it started off bittersweet and things weren’t going as planned but I had to shake that negativity off real quick.

Before I continue to tell you about how my 2017 was, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to you all. I can’t thank you all enough for rocking with me these last six months. Thanks to each and everyone of you for taking the time out of your busy lives week after week to read, comment, and share my blog posts.

My 2017 started off bittersweet, I started the year still grappling with the loss of  my grandmother a few weeks prior but at the same time I was also able to spend the time with my family which always brings me joy. Anyways let me not lament lol. The year 2017 turned out to be the year where many lessons were learnt. Mistakes were definitely made and although I have regrets, I’m taking accountability and can only learn and do better. For me, one of my biggest accomplishment of 2017 would be finally taking the courage to start my blog after sitting on the idea for 2 years . While I’m still a newbie, the connections I’ve made thus far has been amazing and I’ll be forever grateful for that, my cyber friends are so amazing!

I know in the beginning of the year we all had our list of goals we wanted to accomplish, let me tell you I participated in a vision board party, I had all my goals written down in a notebook, I was doing the absolute most the end of 2016. To be honest, I was really trying to set myself up to be great in 2017. However, I wasn’t able to accomplish every goal I made, still trying to figure out why(procrastination) but that’s another topic for another day. 2017 taught me to be brave, to believe in myself more, and to celebrate my successes no matter how big or small they may be.

One of the things I’ve realized on the blog while doing my year end review, is that my nursing related posts tend to get a lot of feedback. So I decided that I’m going to be more consistent with my nursing posts and create more content geared towards that. Now this doesn’t mean I won’t be posting anything lifestyle related I mean after all the blog is called All About The Scrub Life which is meant to showcase my unique journey through school as well as the other aspects of my life.

I have a lot in store for you guys in 2018. I’m working on starting a monthly newsletter, producing merch for the blog and just being more consistent so be on the look out for great things to come.

I have a saying that 2017 was the year of me laying the groundwork in order to execute for 2018. My goal for my blog is to grow my audience and to be more present but most importantly to produce content that my readers will enjoy. My personal goal is to continue to work towards getting this nursing degree and hustle more. It’s so ironic, I was home cooking one day and was catching up with Side Hustle Pro’s podcast and she made a few statements and there’s two that really stuck out to me and fits in perfectly with my goals, so I’ve adopted them and decided they will be my mantra for 2018. They are “Get up and Get busy” and “heads down and execute”. That’s the goal For 2018.

If there’s any particular topic you would like for me to talk about nursing related or otherwise feel free to drop a comment or shoot me an email. I know some of you are working on/towards your goal for 2018 and I hope you’ll be able to execute each one.

I am wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2018! Keep Pushing!

What are some of your goals for 2018? Do you have a word or phrase for 2018? Let me know!
