Hi, I'm Tanya!

These last few months have been challenging for many of us. I know we all had plans for this year but had to make adjustments for because of the pandemic that’s currently going on. I found myself complaining or being ungrateful from time to time during this time and that’s not something I was pleased with. I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health. The latter part of which I had to transition to online learning. I am still able to work during this time and I made it a mission to live in the now and come from a place of gratefulness. It’s always a good thing whenever we can sit and reflect and see where we were and where we are now.

I know we are living in unprecedented times but there are so many things to be thankful for, whether big or small. When I think about it, we have to practice living in the now, give ourselves grace, and to be thankful for the simple things in life. While I can sit and talk about the many things I’m thankful for so I’m sharing five things I’m thankful for. Hope this list will help you to come with at least five things you’re thankful for.

Here’s Five Things I’m Thankful For.

My Life

This might sound cliche but believe it or not many of us go through life and not realize how blessed we are and how much we need to be thankful for the life we have. I know it’s easy to feel like life is just passing you by but really and truly I’ve learned that life is what we make it. This year I’ve seen my growth and although I have more growing to do I’m really thankful for the woman I’m slowly becoming. I have learned a lot about myself and I am going to stand in my truth, I’m a pretty dope person; I have my flaws but I’m thankful that I’m able to recognize them and work on being an even better person.

Family and Friends

I am beyond thankful for my family and friends. I am blessed to have such a loving and supportive family; what else can I really ask for? I’m thankful to the people who I can really call my friend. I’ve had to learn many lessons. One lesson I’ve learned in my twenties is that when it comes to friendships, not every friendship will last. That’s not a bad thing, it simply means as I evolve, some people just don’t serve any purpose in my life; so I’m thankful and blessed to be surrounded by incredible people. You will learn the same if you haven’t already. As you grow, you will learn that and many other lessons.

Health

I am thankful for my health. There was a time when it seemed like my health was going to get the best of me, BUT GOD! So today I’m extremely thankful for my well-being. Given our current situation (COVID-19), I am grateful that my health is intact and that I’m making an effort to taking care of me and my body. I am working on eating healthy, making self-care a priority, and most definitely listening to my body. Take pride in your health and make being at your best a priority.

 Education

This year I accomplished one of my biggest goals and that was graduating with honors with my degree in Public Health. I absolutely have never been this happy. I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to even attend school and to even have the option to pursue another degree because I know many who don’t have such privilege. I’m passionate about being an avid healthcare advocate. I’m really excited about this new chapter and the future is indeed looking bright.

Supporters

Last but not least, YOU GUYS! I started this blog three years ago not having a clue what I was doing and it truly warms my heart every time I get some form of support. Whether it’s through sharing, liking, or commenting it doesn’t go unnoticed and for that, I’m thankful for all of you. It’s really just the little things. I couldn’t do it without your support. I promise to commit and show up for you more consistently. You are amazing and I’m happy with the community I’m creating.
