Hi, I'm Tanya!

I know most of you guys are excited for the fall season because of the fashion and change of weather but for me I’m excited for fall because of the fall TV shows. I’m a self declared TV junkie, I watch almost EVERY show there is. I suck at time management and I have been trying to improve this skill, but for some reason when it comes to my TV shows I seem to manage that time really well (I know, I know I need to get it together lol). Watching TV is one of the ways I entertain myself, some shows are just really addicting. I know it can be very overwhelming when trying to find a show to watch but have no fear, the TV junkie is here to help. I’m going to list some of my favorite shows to watch and the new ones I’ll pick up this fall. For me it’s very important to find a show that’s going to catch my attention or as my friend Gigi and I like to say “pull me in.” I’m only going to list a few, if I were to list all the shows I watch, this will be a very longgggg post. In another life, my true calling would be to lay around all day in my PJ’s and watch all the shows in the world lolol.

1. This Is US

From the very first episode of season 1 this show has caught my attention and I’ve cried EVERY episode(I’m a huge crier). This first season was excellent, I can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store for us. I guarantee you will love this show. Get on it! Premieres September 26th 9pm on NBC.

2. TGIT: Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to get away with Murder

Thursday Nights belongs to Shonda Rhimes. The drama on each show is on another level. I’m a bit sad that this will be the last season of Scandal but it had a good run. Grey’s Anatomy and How to get away with Murder premieres on September 28th at 8 and 10pm respectively and Scandal October 5th 9pm on ABC.

3. Black-ish

I’m still not sure how I feel about Black-ish moving to Tuesday’s. However, I’m excited to see how the family transition with Zoey going off to college and having baby Devontae home. Premieres October 3rd at 9pm on ABC.

4. Chicago PD

There’s something about a cop show that I love and it doesn’t hurt that I have a crush on Sergeant Bought lol. Premieres October 27th at 10pm on NBC.

 Bae 😍

5. Law & Order Special Victims Unit (SVU)

I’ve been watching this show since I was 10 years old, I practically grew up watching SVU. I’ll be forever loyal to Olivia and the gang. Premieres September 27th, 9pm on NBC.

6. Empire

Cookie and the crew are back September 27th 8pm on Fox. Wednesday’s are when I have a major clash because my faves all show that night and same time. I’ll let you in on a little secret SVU always trumps Empire(sssshhhh).

7. Star

Premieres September 27th 9pm on Fox.

8. Queen Sugar

This is another great show created by Ava DuVernay. This show tugs at me emotions every episode. Let the record show I’ve been a loyal supporter of the OWN network since it’s inception. Queen Sugar premieres  October 3rd at 10pm on OWN.

9. Hawaii Five-O

I have watched the older version but this remake is Everything. Premieres September 29th 9pm on CBS.

10. Blue Bloods

I’ve had a huge crush on Tom Selleck since I discovered the show “Magnum, PI” many years ago. I also have a huge crush on Donnie Wahlberg and it’s another cop show based on the NYPD. Premieres September 29th, 10pm on CBS.

11. Supergirl

Premieres October 9th 8pm on the CW

12. The Flash

Premieres October 10th 8pm on the CW

13. Arrow

Premieres October 12th 9pm on the CW (not sure how I feel about the change from Wednesday to Thursday)

14. Jane the Virgin

Premieres Friday October 13th pm on the CW

15. Designated Survivor

I love me some Keifer Sutherland and seeing him in a role like this, shows me how diverse of an actor he is. Also, this show is basically showing that anyone can become the President. Designated Survivor for some reason seems like a precursor to what may happen if Trump remains president or gets a second term(sorry but not so sorry). Premieres September 27th, 10pm on ABC.

16. Lethal Weapon

This reboot stars the legendary Damon Wayans. Premieres September 26th at 8pm on FOX.
17. The Good Doctor

This is a new fall show that has caught my attention just from the commercial. I also love watching medical dramas. From the TV commercials and after doing a little reading, this show is about a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome being recruited into a pediatric surgical unit at a prestigious hospital. I am really looking forward to this show. It premieres tonight September 25th 10pm on CBS.

18. Law & Order True Crime:The Menendez Murders

Premieres September 26th at 10pm on NBC.

Are you a TV junkie like me? Do you watch tv casually? Let me know what are some of your favorite shows to watch or favorite thing about the fall season.

I also watch Queen Sugar, that is my SHOW. I catch Blackish every now and again, but This is Us and Queen Sugar are my MUST SEE TV. 🙂
    Great post!

  4. Lala says:

You forgot about Chicago fire ? Returning this Thursday. Also I recommend The good Witch, it’s a nice unusual show.
But you are more than a TV junkie lol
Having your own show soon ? Lol

  5. astoldbyali says:

I saw good doctor ad was so intrigued, but I really can’t do doctor shows! I’m squirmish to the max lol.
Definitely here for TGIT tho! 🎉🎉

  6. I’m excited about This Is Us and Shonda Thursdays. I wonder how Scandal is going to end. I didn’t know Black’ish was moving to Tuesday now.

  7. I’m sooo excited for tonight!!! I can not wait for This is Us. I know I will be full of tears! But I just love it!

  10. Can’t wait for TGIT and Empire

  11. Kendro says:

I liked HTGAWM but it got so bland to me lol. That Law & Order show sounds good though!

  12. Vany says:

Here I was thinking I was the only one excited about fall TV. All my shows will be recorded so I can watch over the weekend!

  13. Janet Barclay says:

I’m especially looking forward to Law and Order True Crimes because I know someone who was on the jury for that case.

  14. Anna says:

I’ve got to start watching more tv! All these sound so good.

  15. Queen Sugar is my favorite, therefore most anticipated. It’s the only show I ignore my 9:30 bedtime for. The second most anticipated is Scandal. It’s run it’s course, but the last season was one of the best. A great prelude to the final season. I can’t wait to see how Shonda wraps it up. I’ll cry at the finale, I’m sure. Black-ish is the third most anticipated. I’m happy about the move to Tuesday. My Wednesday’s are crowded and I sometimes forget about that show and end up catching it later in the week. This change gives me something to look forward to on Tuesday nights.

    • I’m excited to see how Shonda wraps up Scandal, I’ll probably cry at the finale as well. My Wednesdays were pack as well and I’d sometimes forget Black-ish. I have clash in Tuesdays with This Is Us but I’ll make it work. I am very excited for the return of Queen Sugar, I cannot wait to see what happens next.

  16. I loved this! Learned some new shows and I can’t wait to see them!

  17. vsthomps says:

I have to finish season 1 of This is Us. I don’t know what’s taking me so long. I don’t think I finished last season of How to Get Away with Murder either. I better get on it. The spoilers on my facebook timeline are out of control. What about that new show with the young man who accidentally becomes mayor? That sounds interesting. I don’t know if it will last though. Can you believe I don’t watch Blackish?

    • You have some catching up to do. That new show you’re talking about I forgot to add it to the list and now I can’t remember the name lol. I’m going to watch it and see if I like it. O started watching Black-ish after season 2 and I love it! Let me know what you think about This Is Us when you’re finished watching it.

  18. Great post – I too love the “Fall TV”. Curling up wrapped in blankets and watching TV is the best.

  19. Great post. I can relate -“Fall TV” means comfort blankets and warm soups.

  20. The only show I’m familiar with is SVU and I’ve been watching it for years! Maybe I need to check out these others when I get some free time.

  21. Ellee Davis says:

I am a huge fan of TGIT. While I do adore my shows and can’t wait for Scandal to make its premiere, I must say that Grey’s (although they’ve had a great premier) they need to come to an end. But every Thursday you will fine me with a glass of wine tuned in to all shows.
