Hi, I'm Tanya!

Hey guys!

Can you believe we’ve made it to the end of another year?! A few weeks ago, I texted my best friend telling her I was so emotional because I just couldn’t believe the end of a decade was already here. I think about where I was this time last year, the one word that sticks out the most to me is gratefulness.

One thing I realized this year and when I think back to previous years, it’s so easy to get caught up and not take time to stop and appreciate life and the many blessings. I know for me, I was one who kept focusing on my failures versus what I did and has accomplished. I’m finally at a place where I am starting to live my best life. Anyways let me not ramble on.

Unlike previous years 2019 started with a bang for me, and I think it set the tone for the rest of the year. Allow me to toot my own for a quick minute. At the end of 2018, I started a Christmas for the Babies initiative, where I collected different items to give back to the Pediatric ICU at the Mount St. John’s Medical Center in Antigua. In January, I flew home to Antigua to present the donations. The level of appreciation from the Doctors, Nurses, etc. almost made my heart explode. To see one of my dreams become a reality was truly incredible! Thank you to all of you who supported me. I was not expecting that level of support; it shows how much we can achieve when we stick together. You can read more about this here.

I had another big thing to look forward to this year. I was getting ready to go on my first study abroad to the Motherland; I was going to study abroad in Uganda, Africa, for a couple of weeks. This whole trip changed my life and is easily the best part of 2019! Some more highlights, I got selected to be part of one of my professor’s community-based service learning research team. I started my last year as an undergrad. I got my first major brand partnership with a brand I love, I got featured in Quizlet’s 2019 Impact Report ( can somebody pinch me!). I’ve made headway and became more confident in knowing my purpose.

I finally figured out my goal and my direction as it relates to my blog. This year has been my most successful year since I’ve been blogging, and I have you guys to thank for that, your support means the world to me.

Over the last two years, while on my self-development journey, I decided to go into a new year with a word or a theme, and 2019, my words were consistency and commitment. This year has shown me that consistency gets results, so for 2020, I’ve decided to keep the same words and add the word discipline. I lack discipline in most areas. I know I can reach my full potential if I were to be disciplined and committed, which will then allow me to be consistent. I am coming for everything in 2020, and I mean that!
I hope you guys had a great 2019 and accomplished most of your goals and even if you didn’t get to accomplish everything this year there’s always 2020. Remember the race is not for the swift and nothing happens before it’s time. Keep pushing even on the days when it seems impossible just push a little harder.

Thanks to every one of you for rocking with me in 2019. The time you take out of your busy lives week after week to read, comment, and share my blog posts is greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to share more of my journey with you! Wishing you a happy and prosperous new year. Remember Consistency Gets Results!

Cheers, Tanya
